PAWZ: Performance Analysis Web Zone

It is a Web-based, enterprise-level, automated performance management software. It has three components:

• eCAP Monitor: Gathers Performance Data from each monitored node.
• PAWZ Agent: Runs on each monitored node and acts as the interface between the eCAP monitor and the PAWZ Server.
• PAWZ Server : It schedules daily download requests from each PAWZ Agent, processes and stores the data into a centralized relational database. It produces graphs and reports which can be accessed from any corporate desktop using a browser. It generates e-mail notifications for pre-defined threshold.

  PAWZ Agents and eCAP Monitors are supported on IBM-AIX, HP-UX, HP Itanium, SUN Solaris(Sparc, Intel), Tru64 Unix, Linux (v2.4-2.6 Kernels - Intel), VMWare ESX, Windows NT/2000/2003 and OpenVMS Alpha, VMS Itanium platforms.

  PAWZ Server is supported on Windows 2000/2003 platforms.

eCAP: Enterprise Capacity And Performance Planner

It is Motif based capacity planning software. It has three components:

• eCAP Monitor: Gathers Performance Data from each monitored and planned node.
• eCAP Analyzer: It reads data collected by eCAP Monitor and produces performance reports and graphs using a Motif GUI or command line interface.
• eCAP Planner: It is a complete capacity planning software package. It allows one to create workload profiles from eCAP Monitor data. The workload profiles can then be used to create capacity planning models to answer "What if" scenarios. It uses a mathematical queuing networks to model systems, networks and applications.
  eCAP Analyzer and Planner are supported on IBM-AIX, HP-UX, SUN Solaris, Tru64 Unix and OpenVMS Alpha. eCAP Monitor is supported on Linux, VMWare ESX, VMS Itanium, HP Itanium and Windows NT/2000/2003 in addition to the above named platforms.
