The PerfCap Monitor is also required on each system being monitored. This is a highly detailed, but efficient collector for PAWZ. The PerfCap Monitor collects system-level performance information at a sample rate determined by the PAWZ administrator. Information collected by the PerfCap Monitor can also be used as the basis for creating a capacity planning model.

The PAWZ Capacity Planner is an option for the IT professional who needs to determine what computing resources are required to meet their future business growth. It uses a sophisticated queuing network modeling engine to analyze end-to-end performance of systems, networks and applications and to answer “what if” questions such as:  What computing resources will be required when the business grows?  When and which component will saturate next?  What will the impact be on the current response time when a new application is added?
